A World Outside My Own

This week, @garymo, @davewilkins5 and I, are shooting interviews and other video material at a conference for an organization that caters to professional athletes. This conference is specifically for professional baseball players. I’ve been seeing and meeting people that exist in a world I’ve never known. In a world I’ll probably never now. The kind of world that causes average individuals in hotel hallways to whisper “is that so and so?” And you know something… I’m okay with that.

That’s just not something that my personality wants or would do well with. But that’s not the point of this.

As I’ve been watching, listening and takin it all in, I’ve noticed a few things.

These athletes who exist in this world of sports and conferences and money and celebrity are really… No different then me.

They have similar frustrations and struggles.

Issues of money and family.

Questions of life and faith.

Insecurities and pride issues.

Frustration with work life.

But at the core of it all… They are people who are just trying to live their lives, one day at a time… just like me.

And that’s all i have to say about that.
